It depends on your style. If you like a longer trail, you will probably like the Travessia das Sete Quedas. However, if you prefer an easier trail, the Trilha da Seriema is the ideal one for you! We will talk more about these trails later.
What are the trails like in Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park?
The park is less than 1km from Vila de São Jorge. It is open daily from 8am to 12pm. Check the current ticket prices here.
The trails are separated by the color of the arrows and are self-guided with signs.
Saltos Trail
Signified by yellow arrows, the Saltos Trail is 10 km long (round trip). This trail, which is one of the most beautiful in the park, includes visits to the 80m waterfall (with a swimming hole), the 120m waterfall (seen from the top of the lookout) and the Rio Preto rapids (an excellent place to relax). At the end of the trail, there are small waterfalls and natural pools where you can enjoy a swim. The trail requires good physical fitness, especially in the dry season, so don’t forget to hydrate!
Canyons Trail
Signified by red arrows, the Canyons Trail is 12 km long (round trip), with a moderate to advanced level of difficulty. The main attractions on this trail are Cânion II and Cachoeira da Carioca, with exuberant waterfalls and swimming holes. Canyon I is also on this trail, but access is extremely restricted and is not always open to the public.

Seriema Trail
The easiest trail in Chapada dos Veadeiros is marked by blue arrows. Only 800 meters long (round trip), it is ideal for those who want to have direct contact with the beauty of the cerrado but have difficulty getting around or do not want to take long walks. It is also recommended for the elderly and children. The highlight of the trail is the Córrego Rodoviária.

Loquinhas Waterfall Trail
The Loquinhas Waterfall trail is 4km from the city and the path is taken along Rua do Segredo. The route is well marked on a wooden deck with handrails and there you can choose between two trails. The Loquinhas Trail has 7 pools with incredible greenish waters, and is 2km long (round trip). The Violeta Trail has a total route of 2.4km (round trip) with 6 pools of crystal clear water to enjoy along the way. Trail difficulty: easy.
Cristais Waterfall Trail
The Cristais Waterfall trail is 7km from Alto Paraíso, the total route is 1km (round trip). It is an easy trail but the end of the trail is steep and may be difficult for those with health complications. There are seven attractions in total: Poço da Vovó, Massagem, Paraíso, Recanto da Paz, Segredo and Véu da Noiva. To make the most of it, the best thing to do is go down to Véu da Noiva and then go up and stop at the other attractions that you find interesting. The trail also has a restaurant and bathrooms for visitors.
São Bento Waterfall Trail
The São Bento Waterfall Trail is located on the farm of the same name. The waterfall well is quite large and is used for the region’s water polo competition. Difficulty level: easy.
